Owning a wedding venue has been a dream of ours for years, but what makes this space especially meaningful is that it’s where we were married in 2020.
Through our photography company, Abby Jean Photography, we’ve had the honor of capturing over 200 weddings. That experience has given us a unique perspective—one that goes beyond just how a venue looks, but how it feels and functions throughout an entire wedding day.
Over the years, we’ve listened closely—to couples, planners, vendors, and guests—learning what truly makes a wedding venue exceptional.
Briar & Bramble was created from that insight.

At Briar & Bramble, our approach is rooted in creating a seamless, elevated wedding experience that is both beautifully designed and highly customizable. As a premier wedding venue located just 30 minutes east of Springfield, IL in Taylorville, Illinois, we’ve thoughtfully crafted our space to serve not only our couples, but the entire vendor team—ensuring a smooth, stress-free flow from start to finish. From flexible indoor and outdoor ceremony options to a spacious, well-appointed reception hall, every detail is intentionally designed to support your unique vision. We believe your wedding should feel like a true reflection of you, which is why we prioritize customization, vendor-friendly logistics, and a refined atmosphere that allows every element—from florals to photography—to shine effortlessly.

Our Dream Venue
From the first moment we visited Briar and Bramble we knew it was the perfect venue for our Wedding! Derek and Abby were an absolute joy to work with and they have created such a beautiful venue for their clients. The intricate details of the chandeliers, the gorgeous getting ready suites, the outside grounds, every detail has been curated to make the experience for clients and their guests as magical and elegant as possible.
We also booked their set up and tear down package and I cannot speak highly enough about Morgan and the team’s ability make my vision come to life even more beautifully than I had imagined. They also carefully cleaned up and packaged everything for us to take back home after the event without missing anything. The team was so helpful and easy to communicate with and they went above and beyond to bring our vision to life.
Derek was so easy to communicate with throughout the entire process, and he adjusted without hesitation to our latest minute changes. We originally planned for the ceremony outside, but because of the intense heat I made the choice to move the ceremony indoors about an hour and a half before the wedding. Without hesitation, Derek adjusted and rearranged to move it all indoors and transform the reception room to also perfectly accommodate our ceremony. Our guests loved it so much and spoke so highly of the venue, the staff, and their experience throughout the day!
We couldn’t have asked for a better venue and team of people that celebrated with us and worked with us to make our perfect day even more perfect! If you’re considering booking Briar and Bramble for your special day, DO IT! You won’t regret trusting them to make your dreams come true!
